Paddle construction & materials

Each paddle in the koosh paddle ball game features a rigid plastic frame molded for durability and a wide sweet spot. We wrapped the handles in soft foam that stays comfortable even during long play sessions.
The Koosh balls themselves are made from hundreds of natural rubber filaments radiating from a solid core. This signature design gives the ball its unpredictable bounce while keeping it soft enough for safe indoor play. The rubber strands compress on impact and spring back instantly, creating a tactile feedback that makes every catch satisfying.
How to play & skill development

Basic Rally Play
Start with players standing 10-15 feet apart. One player serves the Koosh ball with an underhand paddle tap, aiming for their partner’s paddle. The goal is to keep the ball in play as long as possible, counting consecutive hits.
Challenge Modes
Increase the distance between players or add obstacles to volley over. Try one-handed rallies or time how many hits you can achieve in 60 seconds. The soft bounce of the Koosh ball creates unpredictable angles that test reflexes and coordination.
Age recommendations & supervision

We recommend the koosh paddle ball game for ages 5 and up. Younger children develop the motor skills needed to track and hit a moving target, while teens and adults enjoy the competitive challenge of extended rallies.
Preschoolers (ages 3-4) can participate with adult supervision, starting with simple catch-and-toss games using just the Koosh balls. The soft rubber strands are safe for little hands, and the balls are large enough to avoid choking hazards.

Questions About Your Koosh Paddle Ball Game
We recommend this game for ages 5 and up. Children as young as 5 can learn to hit the ball with the paddle and track its movement. Younger kids (ages 3-4) can play simplified versions with adult supervision, starting with catch-and-toss using just the Koosh balls.
There's no upper age limit—teens and adults enjoy competitive rallies and challenge modes. The game naturally scales to each player's skill level.
Yes, the soft Koosh ball construction makes this game safe for indoor play. You'll need a clear space of at least 20 feet for a comfortable rally distance. The rubber filaments won't damage walls, furniture, or floors if a shot goes astray.
Gyms, basements, multipurpose rooms, and large living areas all work well. We recommend moving breakable decorations out of the play zone and ensuring younger siblings or pets are at a safe distance.
Wipe the paddles with a damp cloth after each use to remove dirt, grass, or sand. Let them air dry completely before storing.
For the Koosh balls, rinse under warm water if they collect dust, pet hair, or outdoor debris. Gently shake out excess water and let them air dry. Avoid wringing or twisting the rubber filaments. Store everything in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and material degradation.
Yes, we offer replacement Koosh balls in multi-packs. The balls in this paddle ball game are the same size and construction as our original Koosh ball packs, so any standard Koosh ball will work with your paddles.
Many families keep extra balls on hand so play doesn't stop if one ball gets lost outdoors or if you want to run multi-player games with more than two people.
Beginners and younger children should start 10-12 feet apart. This distance allows time to see the ball coming and position the paddle. As skills improve, move back to 15-20 feet for a moderate challenge.
Advanced players can stand even farther apart or add obstacles to volley over. The Koosh ball's unpredictable bounce makes longer distances more difficult but also more exciting. Adjust the spacing based on your play area and comfort level.
The soft rubber Koosh balls are much safer than traditional hard balls, but we still recommend keeping a reasonable distance from windows and vehicles. The balls bounce lightly and won't shatter glass on normal contact, but an extremely hard hit at close range could cause damage.
For total peace of mind, position your play area away from fragile surfaces. The game works beautifully in open yards, parks, beaches, and indoor gyms where there's plenty of buffer space around the playing zone.
Absolutely. Players can compete to see who achieves the longest rally streak, the most hits in 60 seconds, or the first to reach a target score. You can also mark boundary lines and create a court-style game where the ball must stay within certain zones.
The unpredictable bounce of the Koosh ball adds a fun challenge that keeps competitive play exciting. We've seen families create their own tournament brackets and schools organize Koosh paddle ball leagues during PE units.
